We’ll cross the “Unidad Nacional” bridge to la Puntilla Area where Parque Historico de Guayaquil is located. It is a cultural – recreational area focused on the old Province of Guayaquil, which encompassed almost the entire Ecuadorian coastal region from the end of the colonial period to the early Republic. It has three main areas to enjoy:
Wildlife Zone with the region’s natural biodiversity, including many species of flora and fauna native to the Ecuadorian coastal region, can be observed along a 1 km chanul (Andean Cherry) wood path.
Urban Architecture Zone, a recreation of significant buildings that were salvaged and conserved in the 1980s and subsequently restored and reconstructed here.
Traditions Zone: Showcases rural lifestyles during the cocoa boom of the last century. The Casa Campesina (Peasant House) and the San Juan Hacienda House are set in an area of plantations, poultry, and ethno-botanical gardens that feature a variety of vegetables and medicinal plants. This area also features theatrical presentations based on the Park’s themes.
