Peru Complete

Day 01: Lima.
Arrival to Lima's international airport. Reception and transfer to the selected hotel. Overnight.

Day 02: Lima / Cusco.
Breakfast at hotel. Transfer to the airport to board the flight bound for Cusco. Arrival, reception and transfer to the hotel. Morning off. In the afternoon. City tour. Visit to the most attractive places in the city and naturally the four most important nearby ruins Qenqo, Puca Pukara, and Tambomachay & Sacsayhuaman. Dinner show at a typical restaurant. Return to hotel and overnight.

Day 03: Cusco / Sacred Valley
Breakfast at hotel. Departure by bus to the "Sacred Valley of the Incas" in the morning. The first port of call is the picturesque town of Pisaq which is famous for its Indian market. In this market one has the opportunity to haggle with the local vendors and is set up only three times a week: Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday. Lunch buffet is included. Then the journey proceeds to Ollantaytambo where you will admire and awe at this majestic fortress. Return to Urubamba and dinner included. Overnight in the sacred valley.

Day 04: Sacred Valley / Machu Picchu.
Early breakfast at hotel. Transfer to the train station. Departure for Aguas Calientes in a panoramic ride which takes three hours and a half. Arrival to Aguas Calientes. Transfer to the citadel by a bus shuttle service. Guided tour throughout the Sacred Citadel of the Incas. The visit includes the Intihuatana (the Solar Clock) the Watchtower, the Incas Palace, the Three Windows etc. Return to Aguas Calientes by bus. Buffet lunch is included. Overnight in Aguas Calientes.

Day 05: Machu Picchu / Cusco.
Breakfast at hotel. Morning off. We suggest a second visit to Machu Picchu (bus service, admission tickets and guide are not included) Return to Cusco by train in the afternoon. Upon arrival to Cusco, reception and transfer. Overnight.

Day 06: Cusco / Puno.
Breakfast at hotel. Transfer to bus station and departure to the city of Puno. The ride, which takes approximately eight hours, will allow contemplating the wild meadows of the Andean plateau and also typical Andean towns. There will also be brief port of calls at the little chapel of Andahuaylillas, Wiracocha's Temple at Raqchi, Sicuani (buffet lunch), La Raya, and finally Pukara. Arrival to Puno. Transfer to the hotel. Check in and overnight.

Day 07: Puno / Uros and Taquile Islands.
Breakfast at hotel. Full day excursion in the highest navigable lake of the world. First you will visit the floating islands of Uros which is inhabited by the old Aymara. These people have kept their traditions and customs generation after generation. Then the journey continues to Taquile Island where you will have the opportunity to appreciate the handicraft and textiles. Lunch in Taquile. Return to Puno and overnight.

Day 08: Puno / Juliaca / Lima / City Tours.
Transfer to Juliaca's airport. If time allows it, you will visit the old pre Inca cemetery of Sillustani where the cylindrical-shaped towers known as Chullpas were used to bury members of the nobility. Departure to Lima in regular flight. Arrival to Lima. Reception and transfer to the hotel. In the afternoon, you will embark on a city tour of colonial and modern Lima. This tour includes the main square where the Government Palace, the Cathedral, and the Municipal Palace are found. Also a visit to San Francisco Convent and its famous catacombs is included. Then the tour proceeds to the residential and modern quarters of San Isidro and Miraflores and the tour ends up at the seaside where you will contemplate the vastness of the Pacific Ocean. Overnight.

Day 09: Lima / Ica / Nazca Lines.
Breakfast at hotel. In the morning, transfer to the bus station to board the bus bound for the southern city of Ica which is also known as the Land of Wine. Reception and transfer to the local airfield to over fly the mysterious and enigmatic Nazca Lines in a propeller-driven plane. Return to Ica. Transfer to hotel and overnight.

Day 10: Ica / Paracas / Lima.
Breakfast at hotel. Transfer to the pier to board your boat and start off your excursion to Ballestas Islands which is also known as the "Little Galapagos". From the sea we can contemplate "El Candelabro" which is a geoglyph, carved on a hillside on the way to Ballestas islands. Departure to Lima by bus in the afternoon. Arrival, reception and transfer to hotel. Overnight.

Day 11: Lima / Iquitos / Lodge.
Breakfast at hotel. Transfer to the airport to board the regular flight to Iquitos. Reception and transfer to the port of Bellavista which is located on the banks of the river Nanay. After boarding a rapid boat, we make our trip for the Amazon towards Yanamono's Jungle (Black Monkey) that has the recognition of possessing the biggest quantity of arboreal species (over 300 species). This is the place where the Heliconia Amazon River Lodge is located. During this trip of approximately 1 hour 15 minutes we will be able to observe the confluence of the Amazon River with the Nanay River and likewise we will enjoy the impressive jungle landscape and the picturesque little houses of the riverside settlements. Arrival to the lodging. Reception with a refreshment of natural fruit. Assignment of rooms. Lunch. In the afternoon we initiate a trek in Primary Jungle of Yanamono's Communal Reservation for approximately 2 hours accompanied by expert guides and where we will be able to identify botanical species as the Heliconia, medicinal herbs and gigantic trees such as the Lupuna (Ceiba Pentandra). Return to the lodge. At night we begin a night sail on boat through the Quebrada Manco (if the river tide allows it) or for the Amazon River to take delight of the magic sounds of the jungle under full moonlight. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day 12: Lodge.
At dawn, we start off a bird watching at Quebrada Caceres (if the river tide allows it) and also we will contemplate the impressive Victories Regia (water lilies) in the lakes located inside Yanamono's Island. Return to the lodge for breakfast. After a brief break, we will visit the Yagua people where we will have opportunity to share with them brief moments of their way of life. On return leg to the Lodge, we will visit a typical Trapiche where we will be able to taste different regional drinks elaborated with the juice of the sugar cane. Return to the lodge. Lunch. In the afternoon we will have a fishing tour in the gullies of the Amazon. The most experienced local fishermen will assist us in fishing piranhas and other varieties of fish. During the tour we will be able to observe to the shy pink Dolphins (Inia Geoffrensis) if the river tide allows it. Return to the lodge. Dinner. At night we will take up a night trek around the lodging to seek out and to observe tarantulas, fireflies and other nocturnal species of our jungle. Overnight.

Day 13: Albergue / Iquitos / Lima.
Breakfast. At a pre-arranged time transfers by boat towards Iquitos. Arrival and reception and transfer to the airport to board the regular flight back to Lima. Arrival and transfer to hotel. Overnight.

Day 14: Lima.
Breakfast. Remainder of the morning off. At a pre-arranged time, transfer to the airport to board the international flight.
