After 20 years of long silence, Milagro and its inhabitants welcomed the arrival of the Dulzura Train. Milagro is the second largest city in the Guayas Province in Ecuador after Guayaquil. The areas is famous for its pineapple and sugar cane plantations.
The Milagro station is located between the streets 9 de Octubre and Pedro Carbo and was reopened on May 25th, 2018. Sixty tourists enjoyed the inaugural journey of this Ecuador tour in the renewed train. Upon the train’s arrival, a folkloric event as well as the exhibition of handmade chocolate took place.
The Tren de la Dulzura is part of a larger network of local trains operating throughout Ecuador by Ferrocarriles del Ecuador. The tour starts from Duran and passes through Yaguachi, Milagro and Naranjito. On this tour, you will be able to discover the changing landscapes of the Ecuadorian Coast from plantations to cloud forest.
